Steve O'Neill, M.A., CMPCFounder, Mental Performance CoachAs a Certified Mental Performance Coach, I am well-versed in the theory, evidenced-based practices, and tools to enhance performance and well-being. I bring a love for the process, authenticity, and compassion to my work with athletes and performers. I help people of all ages who seek to develop the mental tools and mindsets needed to perform at their peak.
Athletes’ lives are full of ups and downs, successes and failures. Recovering from failure and performing in the face of adversity is an important part of being a resilient athlete. Through mental performance coaching, I help athletes strengthen their mental fitness to handle the challenges of competition and thrive on and off the field. Coaching provides athletes with in-depth assessments, customized mental skills profiles, personalized mental performance plans, one-on-one coaching sessions, and tools to build self-awareness and mental fitness. As a lifelong athlete and coach, I have a deep understanding for the joys and challenges of performance. I work with clients who want to take their game to the next level by building resilience, increasing present-moment awareness, managing competition anxiety, and building confidence. |

MY PHILOSOPHY
Deliberate DiscomfortPeak performance isn't about being perfect. It's about grinding, adapting and learning how to handle adversity. It is key to develop a healthy attitude towards stress as well as to have the tools to bounce back after setbacks.
|
AttentionThe path to peak performance starts with mindful awareness. A mindful athlete is present-focused, concentrates amidst distraction, plays with a sense of purpose, is motivated to improve, and trusts in their ability to succeed.
|
RecoveryThe best don't just train harder than everyone else, they recover harder, too. Three of the best ways to both protect against burnout and provide the recovery needed for growth are the 3 R’s of "RRRecovery": reflect, relax, and rest.
